Parking: There is metered parking on the North and East sides of the courthouse. Many of these meters are 10 hour meters; however, the cost is 50 cents for every 15 minutes. Also, be keenly aware of the tow away hours. There is no parking between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on a number of the main East/West and North/South streets. This is not true of the side streets. Be sure to look at the signs, as they will tow. Also, if there is snow on the ground, be sure you are not on a snow emergency route.

Court house security: Do not bring anything with you that might be considered a potential weapon such as a pocket knife, scissors, darning needles, hat pins, or other sharp objects. Do not bring any electronic devices of any type whatsoever with you other than a cell phone or hearing aid. If you have a cell phone it must be checked at the security station in the lobby of the court house. You will be required to pass through a highly sensitive metal detector and may be required to take off your shoes and belt. Also, you may be individually scanned if you fail to pass through the detector which does occur on rare occasions. You must have a photo ID card with you issued by the state or federal government and you will be asked to show it to gain entry. If you have special medical needs, advise your attorney ahead of time to determine the need for special accommodations.

Court room where you need to go: The meeting of creditors is held on the 2nd floor in Room 2110B. It is around to the right after you get out of the elevator on the 2nd floor. Do not confuse the actual bankruptcy court room of which there are three, all located on the 6th floor with the meeting of creditors room on the 2nd floor. Unless told otherwise, you will normally go to the 2nd floor.

Snack Bar: There is a snack bar in the basement where you can buy coffee, snacks, and lunch. There are tables and an area outside to sit. The building in a smoke free facility.
